Once again, a soccer story that ends with no scoring.

I will never, ever understand the appeal of twitter. I think I’m missing a gene or something. Why are people addicted to this, again? I have an account and check it about every three months, thinking ‘hey, maybe I was wrong and this will be fun.’ Nah. It’s bad.

“This young Guerrero Jr. is a star in the making, and Canadians have adopted them as their own. I propose we find an appropriate way to honor him, and I have a few ideas.”

I fucking love that Deadspin has fascinating and well-written articles like these, where when you read the headline you momentarily wonder if it’s just a randomly generated string of words, and then you realize that no, there really were two Kentucky farmers that became kings of croquet.

I’ve never had a desire to play this, but I always end up reading about it. Seems like a job more than a game.

I think a benefit to the death of kayfabe is the elimination of some of the really negative fan interactions - it also took with it some of the really intense passion - but most understand they are at a show

Suicide. Is there a shortcut this guy won’t take?

Damn snowflakes.  In my day they would have given the ref a flying drop kick to the head and then lit the stadium on fire while their supporters stampeded the opposition.

I appreciate that, but please do know that none of this would be possible without all of my talented, hard-working colleagues here at Kotaku. We are a team in so many ways, and none of these stories are single-person efforts, ever.

Petition to call people Magikarps more often

Things Canada constantly lords over the US:

I’m going to need to know how ethnic the batter is before decided whether this was flashy, me-first showmanship that tarnishes the game or scrappy, hard-nosed gritty play that kids should emulate.

On one hand yeah, it’s silly, but on the other hand, are you really holding this against him? He’s a kid, I would be damn proud if my kid would be this passionate about something, especially something he’s good at. He seems like an ok kid, his parents seem very supportive, this whole article was all bunch of

So we have a young, non-Canadian player who just beat Canada’s national team for a championship, and is now blowing off the NHL scouting combine to party his way around his home country for a week.
