@kelz: *laughs* i just made all the same arguments further up the stream, i should have read further! You're final conclusion is perfect though, organic, mechanical, whatever, just more big screen spidey please!

@DasStan: Who's more foolish, the fool, or the fool who follows him? To clarify, sticking to the source material is good, unless the source material was stupid. A teenager being able to create a world changing high strength super-polymer, in his basement, with no funds, is stupid. Especially if that amazing ability…
Is it just me or is the first episode's title really evocative of what Fringe is going through right now? I wonder if they called if "Firefly" as an homage to another great series that was put in the friday death slot, or if it was just coincidental?
@Snake56: Totally. I thought the end got a little too mystical and nonsensical (that seems to be a RDM trait) but i frickin' LOVED first contact. seriously, second favorite trek movie (after Kahn).
Now that we're off the grid, and we've established the themes, i'd love to see a third tron movie. Hook that flashdrive/server (from the final shot) up to the internet and let Flynn's creations mix with the rest of the world. I'll be sad that there's no Bridges, but maybe that will leave room for more Boxleitner?
@hdgotham: Exactly this!
@syafiqjabar of Mars: unspeakable horror: check. insane religion based on elder gods: check. A smile that cracks the world and lets the darkness leak through: check. Odd beings filling human flesh and making them act like space aliens: check. Yup, perfect fit. Its spooky really.
@Bootknife-Jackson: Also your icon is frickin' sweet.
@Bootknife-Jackson: Well the pilot was horrible, but almost campy enough to be horrible-good. So if it gets worse, it might actually get more watchable. If it gets "better" then its just going to elevate itself to truly mediocre crap. I recommend watching while altered on your inebriate of choice.
@Knight_of_Pentacles: Also the Baroque cycle by Stephenson. Originally a trilogy that i believe they broke up into six separate books. Imagica by Barker was also split into two books if i remember correctly. Seems only high fantasy is allowed to stay epically long.
@Jadis4742: Your courage is admirable good person. For the record i really enjoyed a few eps (especially Epitaph One) and the concept had a ton of potential... i just thought the execution left a lot to be desired.
@99TelepodProblems: And from there its a hop skip and a jump to the Dollhouse. Now if only we could pinpoint the neurons that made me watch that terrible show and eradicate them ;-)
@zslane: Hmm, i figure you can either be deliberately provocative or you can want me to "get over it", trying to ask for both seems a little contradictory to me. I mean, either you want me to be provoked, or you want me to be mellow, which is it?
@josephd: Don't feel bad, i though this until a co-worker corrected me a little while ago. I'd rather find out through a nice anonymous blog posting then in front of everyone you work with ;-)
I miss Glee. You know, the good Glee, that consisted of the first 8 or so episodes of the first season. If that show would come back, i'd start watching again.
I don't know which is worse, this "gritty" remake or Merlin's more... uh... "funny" remake. Perhaps they can join forces (or have a baby) and we'll get a nice, dramady style Arthurian legend. You know, with some of the grit, but without the loss of magic, and getting rid of the need to end on a fart joke or a bit…
