Why do the people who work at Kotaku always get so butthurt and throw snarky remarks at people who question them?

Jack Thompson wishes he’d been as effective at keeping games out of the hands of consumers as the PC lynch mob has been lately.
It’s not about specific criticisms of the franchise, it’s about the neo-puritanical culture that Anita and her followers have tried to bring into gaming. Step wrong, speak wrong, tweet wrong, develop wrong, and all of a sudden you’re “featured” in a video or a series of tweets, and you get SJW backlash rammed down…
You are not the only journalist out there. That’s why I said journalists. As a collective, community you have the power to almost bend the reality. Anything from something small like DOA to big things, like being a crutual link in government propaganda and citizen control, I believe in the US that would be FOX news or…
You’d think that, because Klepek conveniently left out the part where as soon as PlayAsia made that first tweet, every SJW on twitter came out of the woodwork and had a meltdown over it, including Kotaku’s own Luke Plunkett, threatening things from cancelling their accounts at PA to getting them blacklisted from sites…
The era wave of SJW would get offended, and blah blah, God forbid us to enjoy some fake nice female bodies. So for a few whiners, now the rest of us have to suffer the consequences.
The climate in the US has changed, to the point where any depiction of a female character in a game runs a significant risk of inciting an internet lynch mob.
The irony?
Yeah but it’s 2015 now. Guys are no longer allowed to like the female body anymore. Not publicly at least.
As a feminist and someone that’s been sneered at with the SJW label...
Well... Yeah, people like the Dead or Alive series lol.
And I think the fact that fucking feminists and shit who won’t even play the game but complain about it anyway is pissing people off.
you know, i don’t want to entirely be that guy because one moment doenst mean that i don’t normally like jason’s stuff, and im no stranger to disliking a series because it bothers my personal beliefs, but kotaku has become a really fucking awful place anymore unless you tick off the boxes on liberal political causes…
Both of those PA comics can be true at the same time. Showing them both together does not demonstrate author hypocrisy.
Well, not posting the comic kinda makes you like them :(
Sure, there’s room for journalists who report on problems, leaks, and secrets. But it’s incredibly hypocritical of them to complain about how, after they monger rumors, write misleading headlines, and leak secrets they knew were under NDA, the companies they’ve been hurting will still want to work closely with them.
To be fair, I think you guys also misrepresented yourselves in the non mea culpa from a couple of days ago. I love your site and it’s a refreshing read for the gaming community. But you guys knowingly engaged in this behavior a couple of times and leaked scripts which had nothing to do with how good a game was going…
Gotta control the thoughts of the morons that read the site so something that calls them on their bullshit is not propaganda meterial and not posted on their site. They’d censor it if they could. You know how these Nazi’s are. I know they love censoring anyone that calls them on their shit in the comment section.
From the Penny Arcade website:
It’s almost as if they decided to put PA on some kind of list.
