Women and violence always funny, never criminal.

I love how people keep bringing up those two comics, as if it’s totally unthinkable for anyone to change their mind/stance on a subject over the span of NINE YEARS.

Wait wait wait..... So you write an article saying how it’s unfair that other companies blacklisted you when you said something they didn’t agree with and then someone says something you don’t agree with and you pull their frikkin comic??

I stopped visiting Kotaku a while ago but came back to see just what kind of response this comic would provoke and I have to say I’m not surprised in the slightest.

Then what you should have done is run the strip, then offered a rebuttal, dealing with it by pointing out why you feel the summation is wrong.

If anything the tone is exactly the same. They’ve always thought this way about gaming journalists, but the tone was optimistic before, now it’s just become jaded.

“A comic misrepresenting a situation I’m involved in.”

No, totally. Dishing it out but being unable to take it isn’t weird or hypocritical in the slightest. Let’s run more stories about Dickwolves and what an asshole Krahulik is to prove how totally fair and not thin skinned you are Jason.

Critical Miss did it too, with an albeit backhanded compliment. In any event complaining about being blacklisted and then essentially blacklisting the most popular web-comic on the internet for mentioning it reeks of hypocrisy. How many articles on Dickwolves did you guys run? If you can dish it out it is unreasonable

you know, i don’t want to entirely be that guy because one moment doenst mean that i don’t normally like jason’s stuff, and im no stranger to disliking a series because it bothers my personal beliefs, but kotaku has become a really fucking awful place anymore unless you tick off the boxes on liberal political causes

Both of those PA comics can be true at the same time. Showing them both together does not demonstrate author hypocrisy.

“I just don’t see the point in featuring a comic on our website from creators who actively despise it.”
So what you’re saying is... you don’t like how they represent you, and as a result you’re not going to actively support their content?
The irony as this relates to Ubisoft and Bethesda is so thick I’m choking on it.

you know, in the general concept of kotaku being a toxic place for game developers, i have to say you are one of the ones i most closely associate it with your attack on vanillaware. i dunno, that was a time i lost a lot of respect for kotaku because it made a personal crusade to force a political position and tried

Well, not posting the comic kinda makes you like them :(

Sure, there’s room for journalists who report on problems, leaks, and secrets. But it’s incredibly hypocritical of them to complain about how, after they monger rumors, write misleading headlines, and leak secrets they knew were under NDA, the companies they’ve been hurting will still want to work closely with them.

I don’t see how it’s a reversal. In 2006, they’re lauding the fact that Games Journalists finally manned up and stopped tolerating the bullshit fed to them by marketing arms of publishers, and instead acted like actual fucking journalists. In Friday’s comic, they’re picking apart what some of those same journalists

To be fair, I think you guys also misrepresented yourselves in the non mea culpa from a couple of days ago. I love your site and it’s a refreshing read for the gaming community. But you guys knowingly engaged in this behavior a couple of times and leaked scripts which had nothing to do with how good a game was going

Gotta control the thoughts of the morons that read the site so something that calls them on their bullshit is not propaganda meterial and not posted on their site. They’d censor it if they could. You know how these Nazi’s are. I know they love censoring anyone that calls them on their shit in the comment section.

From the Penny Arcade website:

It’s almost as if they decided to put PA on some kind of list.
