Ending his Facebook post with “Yes I said it” not only showed how strong Smith’s convictions were, it also proved that he has to sound out everything he writes.

i, too, hate it when i accidentally do a public racism.

And Jones actually took a knee.

It was worth while, if only because it illustrates this point.

Dallas Cowboys hold team prayer that there won’t be domestic violence charges against any players this week.

The Cowboys made Sheriff Joe’s people boo. Must have done something right. I’m not a fan of Jerry Jones. But maybe kneeling before the anthem didn’t allow the yahoos to make it about the flag. And Jones actually took a knee. I’m very confused right now.

Remember his feud with the Khans?

Pat Tillman and two others were fired upon for almost 15 straight minutes by friendlies until his brain was blown out along with an interpreter. The government then went thorough great lengths to cover it up. Just remember that during the anthem.

Good take from Bob Costas:

Had this convo on twitter earlier.

And oh man, I love the “Why don’t black people protest black-on-black violence?” bullshit too.

Protest in the street? Naw, this is not the time or place, since the protests are disrupting to my commute.

The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

I identify with this greatly. I can’t wait until Trump fucks with my other pleasant distractions. Oh, look, here he is. Invited to a dinner party with the Real Housewives. Sitting at the table, eating a steak with ketchup before he grabs the shouting woman’s tit. Turning to the camera smiling, his tiny little thumb up

That you just threw out that you made a conscious decision to go to Hooters like it is no big deal is what frightens me the most about your comment.

This ended up being the most striking outcome of the weekend for me. I wholly expected a lot of players to take a knee, and I wholly expected some mouthbreathers to boo about it. But actually seeing this take place begs the question. Why do they get to disrespect the flag and the anthem by booing over it? Because

I thought I saw all of this yesterday, but was the booing league wide or particulalry bad at Meadowlands and Foxboro?

I will preface this link by saying that I have pretty deep wells of dislike for Shannon Sharpe, but man this is the straight dope. He nails it for me.
The best is that we don’t have Skip Bayless’s

Because it always needs to be said - Boston sports fans are the fucking worst.

They booed at the bar I was in Sunday. At the TV. But no one took off their hat or stood or put down their beer. Which proves the patriotism can’t go through a TV screen. I guess.
