The only way for things to change for the better is to demand better out of the world. Those who say “that’s just the way it is” maintain the status quo. So no, it is not precious for me to want improvement, it is disappointing of you to not want it.

But it’s still a job. A place where you go that you have tasks that help other things to happen. If you’re being assigned tasks and a schedule you should be paid for it.

A job is a job is a job. If you’re devoting your life to it you shouldn’t be having to rely on your parents for income no matter what the other benefits of the job are. It’s also very important to our democracy that these stepping stone positions be an option for regular ass people not just the children of the rich.

I think that “women should do more...child-rearing” holds a lot more weight than you’re giving it. Some of the things that millennials have rightfully celebrated have been breastfeeding, time off work for new mothers, and other mother-infant bonding like skin-to-skin which you couldn’t really do in the office.

It’s that you’re supposed to be highly successful in all of those things, organized, patient, motivational, a role model. You’re supposed to be a key person at work as well as highly involved with your children and spouse.
