I hate the barf gifs. Thank you for sticking to the word.

Oh, no. He finished the degree four years ago. There is little hope of rehabilitation, but also little hope he will get a major publishing deal, sparing the rest of the world from it.

In the case of my friend, that's his undergraduate major. And I've seen him do some good work with structure. But when given free reign, he can do the research but he has trouble creating characters anyone feels anything about — positive or negative.

That's how I feel. When my buddy sends me a book, I definitely read it and enjoy it, but it's not like some other authors I love (Sarah Addison Allen, Tana French) where I actively salivate for their next novel to be published.

Someone else suggested this, but I want to reiterate. Talk to your professors. I had a complete meltdown my third semester of graduate school. I spoke with my professors and took a ton of Incompletes. I ended up having to be in school about a year longer than I wanted, but I finished. And I finished those courses in

Nor am I, but it doesn't stop me from trying!

You are absolutely not a pest! I have been enjoying your comments very much recently. Please stick with us! We'll get you out of the greys eventually! :-)

What do you think of Liane Moriarty? I've read three books of hers so far, b/c my BFF loves her and is trying to convert me by sending them to me at random. I'm not completely sold yet, though.

When I've been called out for saying something stupid, I've found a "Didn't think about it that way — I will now. Sorry I was a dick," kind of follow-up comment tends to deflate the situation very quickly.

I have a friend — eh, former friend, we never talk anymore — who is like this. Spends most of his time writing. Late 20s, subsidized by parents, and the writing is awful. IRL he shows no real interest in the depth of humanity, and it shows in his writing. Blech.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw it. But isn't that the way of brutal cowards? There is a long, sad legacy of groups destroying history as a means of mind control.

At least you didn't think the gif was an actual exploding bird like I did the first time. I'm still getting over the horror I felt, despite the fact I realize it is indeed edited.

You are not.

It's been a LONG time since Sunday School, but (obviously) you are absolutely correct. I am super embarrassed. I'm thinking of another passage and have had neither enough sleep nor coffee to have any business talking theology at all.

Yes, and if the designers need fur, they have to buy it from estate sales where everything smells like Vics and rosewater. Vintage fur only. NO MORE NEW FUR. Fucking A. I hate people.

Added to Wish List. Will order when I get home. Woo!

Very true. I honestly believe they have served some purpose. People who may have been on the, "Ew, gross! Gay people!" side of things are at very least outwardly more tolerant because they don't want to be lumped in with these crazy people.

Well, the verse from which the "love thy neighbor" line came from is one of Paul's letters to Christians, and so perhaps they believe it applies only to other Christians? Or that rebuking people for their sins is a way to love thy neighbor by pointing out their flaws? (Which is dumb, because there's a whole other

The community has done its best to mitigate the WBC in town. Whenever they threaten to picket funerals in town, there is a large line of community members standing as a barrier between the bereaved and the depraved.

Website says coming to the United States April 10. Australia is March 26 and UK is March 27. If you are elsewhere, I'm not sure. I am praying for a quick digital release.
