My father proposed after 10 days or so. They met in October and were married in February. Kinda sets the tone as their child that you either know or you don't.
At least you got that out of the way in high school. In high school I didn't date and in college I dated people only for 6-8 weeks at most. I didn't get into that first serious relationship until after college. It was four and a half years, and the last six months were a very messy, cheaty (him, not me) break up.
I can't even figure out why or how the cloud works. I get to design in internet space and save the docs to my desktop or server? I save them to the cloud and if I don't keep paying I lose my design files? So. Damn. Confusing.
I looked at GIMP. It's awesome, and would definitely work for photo-editing needs (usually I'm just changing resolution for web/print, editing for size or changing format from JPG to PNG or something), but what I really use a lot if InDesign, and MS Publisher just does not cut it for me in terms of ease of use, and I…
Ack. It appears I totally fucked up when I was searching. Other media outlets are listing the Terry Carter who was run over as someone who was not an actor and in his 50s. Not that it matters in terms of awful, but this guy is apparently still alive and well.
Yes. And I am so frustrated I cannot edit my original post in Kinja so I stop perpetuating this incorrect information. UGH. STUPID KINJA.
It appears I fucked up. Different Terry Carter. Still horrible, but not quite the same as running over an octogenarian.
Interesting. Possibly a different Terry Carter, then?
Honestly, this thread is the first time I've heard of GIMP. I'll have to check it out. I'm not really all that great at designing so I tend to stick with what I know.
And she's gone now, so there's a slot for ONE of us to fill in the "not hot but valuable to the universe" category.
Yup. Exactly.
It's not unreasonable. I was thinking the same thing. (Not a designer really, but still need the software.) I'm working on CS4 because I cannot afford to upgrade my own stuff, and work is a nonprofit that can't pay for it either.
Terry Carter, the actor he ran over, was 86 years old. It's horrible no matter how you slice it, but there seems something particularly awful about him mowing down a senior citizen.
I'm the comms manager for a nonprofit and that's exactly the problem I was running into. I think I largely solved it by putting the first and last name of the husband in the first column, and the first and last name of the wife in the second column, and left the third column (usually for last names) blank. It makes…
Ugh. Mail merges, letter addressing and address labeling are the bane of my fucking existence. Show me how to set up a spreadsheet so I can address everyone the way they want to be addressed:
I should be, and like I said, spoilers never bother me. (My mother always reads the last pages of a book first — my tendency was genetically inherited.) The problem is I haven't figured out how to have 1,000 hours of uninterrupted reading time to get through the series, because I know the moment I start this nonsense…
George RR Martin does not seem convinced he died, so that gives me hope. (I have not read the books but I am a notorious spoiler-reader, so it doesn't bother me at all!)
Thanks. I definitely Googled "kit harrington haircut" at work to see this. I really think he's going to be the legitimate son of some crazy important people at some point, so here's hoping wig or that he had to cut off his hair in some sort of Samson-esque relinquishment of power.
Frustrating.
