This and borderlands isn't technically cel shaded. It's stylized texturing with a toon line on the characters. So yes, this is a rip off of their art direction. And the character intros and overall vibe makes this an even bigger rip off.

Have you seen the gameplay? It's not all clunky. There are three mech classes: light, medium, and heavy. Obviously the lights are much quicker but there's also boost maneuvers that come into play during firefight. Traveling is a bit slow but when you're fighting it's fairly quick.

You've got plenty of time to buy a decent PC :)

I thought the tetris thing was pretty cool. To me it looked like the Thing uploaded all the "information" it's collected and that was the computer display running through the various DNA... to make a super Thing perhaps? Who knows, but it definitely looked like it was computing something.
