It wasn't a remake done with any heart.  Wilder is against shamelessly exploiting classic material just because the name power will put butts in seats.   He's right on this one.  There was absolutely no reason to reboot this great movie with a forgettable one other than to cash in and build the Depp-Burton "Hardly…
