Um...what you quoted simply addresses a recommendation that people who convert to EV keep their old parts safe and well-labelled.

Must be. Around here in the Nordics 3 series was 72% wagons in 2017. I would imagine A4 and C class have even higher share in here, especially A4. I’m not even sure when was the last time I’ve seen A4 that wasn’t an avant.
It’s a wagon on stilts with a glut of plastic cladding. AKA a crossover.
It’s clearly been a CUV since the fourth gen.
Or two used cars...
Congrats! The 3-wagons are amongst my favorite wagons. Whenever I see one, I know that person get’s it. You get it.
My brother-in-law (not a car guy) really wants a wagon. He’s practical and wants economy and utility, so he asked me why is it so hard to find a wagon that’s not a Subaru.
Exactly. Calling the current gen Outback a wagon seems...a bit inauthentic.
“Apparently that’s working for Subaru, who for now has a near-monopoly on new near wagons in the U.S.”
I assume they mean 3-4% sold in the US. Here in Germany it’s about 2/3, as in 67%. I just doublechecked this on a big used car website, and the availability of 2016 3-series wagons is twice as large as 2016 3-series sedans.
It really must suck to have a kids and a dog in the US, when you like to drive. You have to buy some kind of crossover, minivan or SUV. Or the rare wagon with crossover cladding. Ugh.
Like 95% of non-Teslas use the same plug. Tesla apparently offered it’s charging tech and access to it’s supercharger network, but nobody took them up on it. Which is RIDICULOUS.
And why not? The computing industry designed their own standards such as USB. What do you think will happen when that “independent” company design doesn’t fit your need?
Yes, a Jag with all the quality control issues and none of the V12 noise
I gotta think these would be huge in the rock crawler community. 100% torque from 0 rpm, ultra-fine control of wheel speed, and you could roll it over without having to worry about fluids going where they’re not supposed to... Just set it back on its wheels and go, like it’s a giant RC car.
Going from V12 to 12V? Now that’s a switcheroo.
That’s totally doable. Check out this manual Porsche conversion:
That would leave space under the hood for the world’s largest frunk.
Ok girls, put on your helmets and don’t tell your mother about this.
The torque the electric motors produce though means it would probably feel and be quicker than the 138ish HP from the ICE engine.
