My thinking is, at the end of the day, it’s a Subaru. It’s never going to hold crazy value, I don’t think. It’s the ultimate WRX, a car that’s meant to be an accessible performance car, built by people who want you to drive it. Don’t think too much about it.

Zero reason to get a Pajero even if it were on sale, at least new. Used is a different story. It hasn’t seen a meaningful update since the late 90's and everything about it is antiquated.

Friends i met on vacation a few weeks ago were driving a rental CHR. It was supposed to be what, a lifted corolla? I mean since it was a rental it was literally the fastest car on earth but i didnt get it. Just buy a sedan at that point given how bad the rear room/trunk was compromised by the sloping roof line.

Because not everyone needs the utility of the second set of doors. In the case of the Prado, you lose wheelbase and overall length along with the doors, improving maneuverability if you go off road. I just did a cursory search of the internet, and... seriously, I get that a CVT can (in theory) improve fuel economy, but lordy, they all seem to suck. I don't care what car it's in, CVT's just seem like a bomb that goes off every 50-75k miles.

I have a CHR. The transmission went out at 66k miles. There is a 2 month long, 40-deep waiting list for a replacement, which Toyota will not pay for. I have about another month to decide whether or not I’m just going to leave it at the dealership and let Toyota Financial Services repo it. Don’t buy a CHR. It’s a heap…
