The most impressive thing about the whole endeavour would actually be legally building a supercharger within less than two weeks.

I predict they’ll remove the turbo, remove the DI and make a big deal about the extra 5HP and greater low end torque.

Right, because she got the 1.5L.

your common sense has no place here. Everyone on this board seems to think they need sub 3 seconds to 60 time to just sit in traffic like everyone else.

The normal CRV 1.5 T does 0-60 ins around 7.5 seconds, i would expect this to be in the 7s range (Rav4 Hybrid is around 7). Although my RDX is roughly a second faster, 7 seconds is MORE than enough.

Urban buyers will be much less likely to have a place to plug it in. If you’re Honda, and you’re starting with one or the other, why not build the one that EVERYONE can use?

They. Will. Not. Be. Able. To. Make. These. Fast. Enough!

I threw this together a while back... still relevant, I think.

Agreed. Its 2019. Non plug in hybrid = Total Fail

That comic is great given that a hybrid CRV makes 2 out of the three issues it mentions nearly irrelevant.

The wood really should be on the exterior.

There is plenty of faux wood in the Subaru Outback. I have to say though- the wood looks completely out of place in this CR-V.

It feels like a missed opportunity not go come out of the gate with a plug-in hybrid version. For urban and suburban buyers, grinding through commute traffic without using fuel seems like it would be a nice perk.

Get rid of the wood trim and this is pretty damn close to a 2020 version of the Subaru Mediocrity.

Physics is crazy right? Super dumbed down math. Simple FBD. Probably has a sprung weight distribution of 70/30. Which means each rear axle gets 30% of the weight, or 15% each. With a locked rear diff which this seem to have and the best street tire, it can only climb a 15.2% grade. With an open diff it could only make

The short answer is that, because of the center axle, there’s not enough weight over the drive axle (the rear axle).
