Massive price ranges are a Porsche thing. The Panamera starts at $87,500. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo starts at $191,000. If the E-hybrid doesn’t count, the Turbo Executive still starts at $163,400. Same deal with the Cayenne. $66,000 base price. $130,000 for the Cayenne Coupe Turbo, $164,000 for the

Once they’ve exhausted the pool of customers willing to spend $150k, they’ll come out with versions priced more in line with the Model S.

It’s direct competition.

Yeah that stood out to me as well.. the Taycan is fantastic!!!.. but it still can’t beat a Model S and btw it costs $70k more without a supercharger network...

185K? So, Tesla still has the market cornered on the whole premium EV sedan with the Model S then. I admittedly haven’t paid that much attention to this things development, but I thought this was actually meant to be a Model S competitor. At that price.... no.

Calling an EV a “Turbo” is absurd. I really dislike this blurring of automotive terms practiced by BMW, Mercedes, and now Porsche. It’s very un-German of them. The German language probably has a very specific word for precisely this type of thing.

While its fast as hell and extremely impressive, im going put this under the “Meh” section. Straight-piped and gutted interior with exposed computers puts this in the same class as the Ford GT that broke the 300mph limit. Make it a production car and run that with Guiness...Until then the 300mph war continues.

But the build looks well done.

Frankenbuilds are fun for the builder and a nightmare for anyone who ends up with it after that.  I should know - I have one in my garage that I didn’t build.

BMW powered Subaru? I don’t know if I could bring myself to start vaping and stop signalling. Too much change for me. Oh, and the $15,000 asking price is $10,000 too high.

CP.

WHY? Just Why The Hell would somebody assemble — ain’t going to call it a “build” — this thing.

Is the reliability on the current WRX not pretty damn bad? I get that doesnt change its “sportiness” but if you cant drive the damn thing its kind of moot. I’m not slamming it here, more just asking because I am curious!

The quality just doesnt compete with Mazda at this price point. They have some of the best interiors in anything remotely near their price points right now

If ALL you want is a sports sedan and don’t care about things like materials quality and seat comfort, then sure, the WRX is great for what it is.

Nope.  The lag is terrible on those.

If we’re going to compare it to the WRX, Mazda spent a lot more time and money on the interior than Subaru did the WRX. It definitely shows.

What is wrong with Grandma’s Buick? If it’s anything like my Grandpa’s Buick it has decent power delivery and a smooth, quiet ride.

My dad bought a CX5 in that.

Were y’all even alive in the 90s? Man, we are at a place where Mazda has a turbocharged sedan pushing 310 lb ft of torque and 250+ horsepower... and it’s super affordable.... and you’re complaining about it not being sporty enough? I had to drive a 1993 Camry in high school. Did it have a dent in the bumper? Of course
