Nah, man. My first car was an e36 318i, that thing was in good condition with 80k miles, and I put an awful lot into it in the 8 years I had it. Like a lot. M parts are nearly 2x normal 3 series parts, so this thing could be one hell of a rabbit hole.

Best part of these bikes is being able to ride them a few hundred miles to your favorite dirt spot and back! Really though, these kinds of bikes are some of the best distance-eaters, while still being able to have fun in the twisties and the dirt. Love em.
