I’m staring at an 85 page document that, by next week, needs to be about twice as big. When it’s done, I’ll know my project is halfway done. It’s due in 3 weeks.

There is, perhaps, a bright side. Your childhood home will always be that for you. It gets ossified in memory as the place where the family existed together. My dad still lives, alone, in the house I grew up in, and it’s the most depressing place in the world.
