It looks like it has a pop-up spoiler, look at the extra seams, aft last six inches of the trunk deck. Even has a notch to clear the fin when in the (hypothetical) up position.

Good for her.Our Outbacks served us well in NW Montana, Idaho and Washington. Maybe we won't read about another multi-million lottery winner dead broke in two years!

BaginaFace, there is a company in Belgium that is building brand new 2CVs and Meharis, you can even pick your color and interior. They can't be imported into the US because as a new vehicle they don't meet safety standards, but Zut Allors! They will sell you a complete kit to your specs right down to the valve cover

So I shouldn't buy one for my beachfront condo in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii? I wonder if I can find a Mehari? BTW, what kind of gas mileage does your 2CV get, in the real world?

I agree with all of the above, except choice of model. Go the simple life and put the balance of your funds into a retirement plan.

BTW bobcprimus, if you actually are a Brit, you might recall a little program called 'Lend Lease' that kept Britian and the USSR afloat for many years prior to our entry into th conflict. National selective memory indeed, eh?

Drifting for it's own sake is stupid. Karma is a heartless bitch.

This entire thread has been about 12/07/41, which is the day the U. S. entered WWII. And no, I do not have 'selective memory', it was a selective comment about our involvement. I am well aware of the theaters others had been at war. for the most part of a decade.

I have a long-time connection with Pearl Harbor, one of my relatives is entombed in the ship (look for the name Menefee). I first visited in 1953, before the monument was built (by Elvis Presely, BTW), when the Airizona was still recognizable as a ship, which we motored past in a launch.

Shoulden't tha be 'Run' Paul, since that's all he ever does?

Hey, you riffin' off my 'Republican't' name for the GOPers?

No, they are 'skilledier'!

Actually, I want something I can drive for an around-town car. We live in Kailua-Kona Hawaii, right on the beach, and I want a fun car to suppliment our 'real' car (2006 Subaru Outback). The perfect car would be a convertible, or something like a Moke, or at least old style cloth sunroof, second choice would be a ute,

Excalibur! There can be no more suitabke vehicle for the consummate poseur.

Hey mate, my wife and I are planning a long stretch in OZ, probably starting in Oct -Nov '15. We have family and friends down under, but none of them are gear heads. I'd like to find an older car that's good on petrol to buy ... something like an old Morris Minor, although I reckon they've gotten pretty dear. But do

S'kay, I'm experienced hand-prop. The plane after the Champ was a Spezio TuHoler with an o-290D. It also had a plug, but being between the wing and the blender scared me more than propping so I never used it.

Mahalo, how's the Champ equipped, Xponder, radio, or no. Ours had nothing, still flew it all over the country, including OSH.

Seattle area, where? I tried to fly my grandkids last week, when they were visiting Kona, but the rental C-172 had a mechanical. They live on Bainbridge, maybe I could rent the Champ ( I've got about 300 hours in one) and fly them our next mainland visit in Feb. I'd much rather fly them in a Champ than a Chevrolet

'Zackly what I was gonna say. Find a nice clean Sport Pilot qualified airplane (7AC Champ is perfect, not the Aeronca poctured, but very similar). There are many nice examples for under $20K, buy one. Auto gas STC, hard hourly costs under $20/hr. You only need 20 hours, and not even all of those dual, with instructor.
