I wanna buy it, put running gear under it and drive it!

Will be going on sale towards the end of 2013. And of course, there isn't a price yet. Has this post been stuck in the internem Daemon of a whole year?
Now, maybe. Then, and looking for a car ... not so much.
I have been beating this drum (with no result, or even response) for over a decade. It looks like the only way I will ever get what I want is to go back to the mainland, find a nice clean 80s GL with dual-range 5-SPD, gut it, cut off the excess sheet metal and glass and build my own. It's a longer wheelbase than I…
If you think that was bad, try trying to find a car you wanted to buy in the late 70's.
Farewell thou faithful uberJalop. Winding vloud roads, fair weather snd no celestrial cops in sight ... motor on Tommy.
Looks lik a malaise era T-Bird.
And that, my young friends, tells you all you need to know about growing up and learning to drive in the 1950s.
One of the scariest looking, and sounding weapons of WWII. Junkers Ju-87 Stuka
Except that the Solara won't have parts falling off it starting in year two.

The concept behind the inflatoplane was simple. You drop it behind enemy lines to a downed airman, who then lays it out on the ground like an airplane shaped sleeping bag, starts the pump, and inflates the plane until firm enough to fly.
I learned to fly in Hawaii, out of a HNL FBO branch at KOA (Hawaii Country Club of the Air), flying steam gauge Grumman Yankees, which are about 1/2 the size of. Cessna 172.
I suppose my answer to that is that 'nice things' is an entirely subjective world view, as was my initial post.
No Evan, I'm not bitter at all. I have no animus against those who, having more money than they know what to do with, choose to buy more car than they can handle. I did not demean the 0.01%, I just said that *I* (me, the person posting) don't give a shit. As to the ivory tower reference ... here's my front porch, brah.
That 'thing' as you called it is the infamous R&T Cyclops, feared in 1960's racing circuits the world over ... kids, harrumph!
Frankly I don't give a ratsass what the 0.01% drive. Anyone who can piss away three times the lifetime earnings of an average American is no Jalop ... 'Cept Jay Leno.
You're asking thirty large for a car (any car), and you can't be bothered to WASH it, let alone detail it out like a respectable 'WE FINANCE!' used car lot? That says all I need to know sbout this 'deal of the day'.
Haw hard did you air up the tires? Dry desert conditions you should be able to run them at 40+ psi.
