Wow, to see comments like this in such high number on what is supposed to be a car-themed site boggles my mind. Racing at the highest level (especially F1) is extremely demanding physically. Anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn’t have a clue about motorsport and thus shouldn’t be commenting on the matter.

From what I can gather, the Jetta (or rather the Golf it’s based on) is to Europeans what the Camry is to Americans: the boring, sensible choice. And it’s everywhere.

Yeah, I was thinking any of the RWD 8-valve Volvos would be a piece of cake. I heard you can take off the whole engine+gearbox assembly from the top very easily.

It can be done in a 52hp Opel Corsa. Every car I have ever driven can move off in a flat surface with the clutch alone. I assume it’s possible in every car built in the last 30 years as long as the clutch isn’t fucked up.

I’m of the opinion that avoiding brake rotor “warp” is more dependent on a proper bed-in procedure than necessarily rotor quality. I had a friend whose Brembo rotors “warped” religiously within a year. He would have them resurfaced or replaced, and within a year, they were “warped” again. I suggested he followed the

It annoys me that nobody seems to remember Kevan. He was the least horrible Lannister (not counting Tyrion ofc), actually kinda badass, but nobody cares he was also in the Sept when it when kaboom.

I figured the complete lack of weight over the rear axle would lead to less rear traction and hence less understeer. Until you get on the power, at least.

My eyes rolled so hard at that sentence that I saw my brain.

Makes sense, thanks!

I’ve driven both, so I know the difference.

I’ve always wondered, is broken power-steering very bad on the highway as well, or just at very low speeds, like normal unassisted steering?

Surprised she didn’t think she crapped her pants. That’s what most people I know feel when you turn on the seat heaters without their knowledge.

It’s very good for VW standards. The manual claims that as much as a quart every 1000km (NOT miles!) is normal...

I’m no expert, but I was under the impression that Lexuses (Lexii?) were basically just glorified Toyotas and, hence, indestructible. Specially with a stick, as there’s even less shit to break.

Or the better version of that quote I’ve heard recently:

Yeah, I remember those stupid filters. The first time you go to replace them involves a lot of trial-and-error trying to get that pedal off (“ok, short socket + ratchet is too short and won’t reach the bolt, but short socket + short extension is too long and hits something so I can’t turn the ratchet. Lemme try a

The Camry is to Americans what the Golf is to us Europeans. It’s fucking everywhere.

Yeah, the torque thing annoys me as well. Unless you’re towing something very heavy, power is the metric that tells you how fast you can go. Well, that and area under the curve, if you want to get really precise.

Over 1000 people (~30% of voters) still voted NP, which to me is a huge proportion.

15 seconds? I’d be surprised if this could get to 60 in under 20 seconds.
