They would still be in business, but would likely have closed a higher % of stores (source: I worked at GameStop from 2001-2019, most of it at the corporate office at a Director level). The majority of their stores are still profitable because their real estate strategy is to never sign a lease term longer than 3

Have to recommend the wave-fronted. Around the same price (about 1100 dollars per year in California, and yeah, you have to buy them every year and yeah, they’re only covered by the highest-end PPOs), but there is no (i.e. little) pain. Completely life-changing. I can drive at night now.

Damn. That $5 monthly reward was the only reason I was going into GameStop nowadays.

Maybe because committing murders by the 1000s is actually relevant to the plot or gameplay but walking around in a bikini isn’t.

Puritanical doesn't mean what you think it means.

COMPLETELY off-topic, but thank you for spiking my memory of Beeman’s gum (hadn’t thought of it since probably the 90s), and tossing me down a rabbit hole of, “Wait...I know the packaging was similar, but did Beeman’s make Clove gum?”

Do you use the new wavefront guided sclerals? My father has the same condition, and it was absolutely life changing vs the regular sclerals. Like seeing for the first time.

Honestly I have never liked the playstation layout for controllers. The fact that both joysticks are in the spot where your thumbs have to stretch to reach instead of being in a resting position is problematic. Most games require more usage of the face buttons with the aiming stick only being used to quickly flick

There’s a reason you see a lot of 3rd party Playstation controllers mimicking the Xbox controller layout and not many Xbox controllers mirroring the PS layout. Offset analog sticks is just more ergonomic. Hell the entire reason why the original Dual Shock has the analog sticks where they are was because it was easier

It’s nylon, very breathable.

I remember the halcyon days of aught-fifteen. Why, for 6 pence I could away myself for a day, nibbling horehound drops, chasing hoops, and catching frogs. The gasoline burning engine had become near commonplace, as wainwrights turned their shingles.

Ever see the early Tom Hanks joint "Mazes and Monsters"? Oof.

Latex? It's ripped up stockings.

I’m a PC only gamer.  I have an xbox controller because the stick placement is awesome.

I’ve long assumed it’s because lots of people first played the Metal Gear Solids when they were preteens/young teenagers, an age in which lots of deeper meaning gets attached to otherwise shallow artwork.

You don’t need to play a game to know it’s not for you and that it comes across as pompous.

How many people sleep on turn based RPGs because it’s not action? How many people skip visual novels because it’s “just reading?”

Gamers are such babies man. Dude is allowed to think Kojima is up his own ass. Doesn’t change your

I was interested in MGS V before Quiet’s reveal. I had never played MGS before and was curious about it. And then the director, who I had never heard of before that, said that people should be and would be ashamed of themselves for questioning his genius about Quiet’s outift, and I immediately lost interest.

Yep, this is me exactly. The main improvements I’m looking for is fixing the bonkers ABXY button layout (the Switch is so close, it just needs rotating 90 degrees), adding analog triggers, and as much of a power upgrade as they can possibly achieve, even if it costs $600. I don't want Nintendo to be boring, I just

Whatever it is, it will live in the dock where I use an actually functional controller to play the 4-6 first party games per generation that I like.

Nah, I never replay games. But it is still nice to be able to migrate games I'm currently playing to the next generation if there are some I haven't finished yet.
