Their lack of boxes for otters is definitely otterly ridiculous.

Born in the early 80's myself. This is sad and frightening in equal measures.

Condolences to his family and friends.

What the fuck is a “pogchamp”? I’m assuming it doesn’t mean what it would have meant when I was a child.

It’s posts like these that make me realize how out of touch I am with current gaming culture...

Oooh... I didn’t know these existed. I’ve been covering annoying LEDs with black electrical tape and then maybe cutting a tiny slit if I do need to see the LED occasionally.

How is Parler doing anyway? I saw an article a few weeks ago that said downloads fell off a cliff after the immediate boost they got during the election.

I’ve been very impressed with the response from our media and tech companies! All it took was four straight years of impotently allowing Fascism to fester and grow, a refusal to ever call lies “Lies”, a moronic desire to appear completely impartial to injustice and treat everything on earth as though it has an equally

I mean, maybe, but delaying the games from Game Pass when they’ve already announced them just in an effort to try and get them on their own service first (I guess?) would be a pretty bizarre move to make and toxic to their relationship with Microsoft, so I can’t really see any reason they would do that.

I don’t know about this. Preference is what it is, but for those of us who like the X1 controller over the DS4, the size is factor in that we like the controller bigger. As for the weight of it, I don’t feel my X1 is any heavier than my DS4, it probably is factually heavier, but not so much that I feel it is in any

I doubt that. My Pair of double aa batteries last a lot longer than my play and charge as well as my PS3 and PS4 controllers. Every one of my re-chargeable kits has had diminished charging (including my play and charge) only without the ability to “refresh” the batteries forcing the purchase of a new device or kit.

Adding to the commentary about how batteries are superior: I have a rotating pile of Amazon Basics and other high quality AA rechargeable batteries, just due to having kids and old synths.

So, being able to cycle in new batteries into a controller is miles more convenient than: finding I am out of juice and having to

ethan is either willfully ignorant or intentionally wasteful at this point.

I am glad they have that deal. I have AA rechargeable batteries that are cheap (but high quality) and easy to replace. Controllers (and any device in general) with sealed batteries that go bad years later without high quality replacements are terrible. You risk damaging the item to replace it with a garbage no-name

Exactly. As I had pointed out in the previous internal v. swappable debate, when I was roommates with someone who had a PS4, she had to buy an entire second controller because even in a Saturday morning gaming session, one would go from full to dead.

Random sidenote but apparently Kinja turns commenter links to amazon into Kotaku affiliate links? I guess it’s not a big deal but feels a little skeevy.

It also means that if the rechargeable part dies, you can swap it out or use batteries in the mean time and don’t have to pay $60 for a new controller.

It’s the whole reason why I could still use my old 360 controllers without a hitch. Nice that there are removable batteries in some things.

I’m glad that they do. I much prefer swapping some rechargeable batteries than having to dock and charge a controller.

Nintendo didn’t buy Rare for a reason. I don’t know that it’s really Microsoft’s fault it didn’t turn itself around.

Well, you're in luck, because Nintendo and Microsoft have been pretty buddy buddy the last few years. Will we ever see Mario on the Xbox? Probably not, but we can dream
