This is always the kind of thing that scares me. Not being banned for selling something like that — it seems like a stupid idea no matter which way you look at it. But the amount of control these companies have over your games is ridiculous, and you never quite know when you’re doing something you may get banned

Despite the claims of “innocence” from aggrieved users it is actually not hard to avoid getting banned from these services. It’s simple, just don’t break the rules and do some obviously shady shit like this. They don’t want to ban you, despite the claims of people that get banned. That’s telling a customer you don’t

Haha, I forgot about the pencil lead unlock, and it was absurd the levels they could be overclocked. today it’s just push a button and the system will auto overclock for you.

I didn’t even hook up my PS5 the day I got it unlike my Series X.

Sony has tried to foster freedom of creativity

Their cloud gaming is more of a cherry on top of Ultimate.  And it actually works quite well.  How much you use it though is going to depend on the individual.  Some people have no need to play games on their tablets or whatever.

Ehh, I like Sony exclusives as much as the next gamer, but they aren’t exactly breaking creative ground with God of War, TLOU or Spider-Man. All great games, but even just in 2020, a little game like Hades has done more to advance the action genre than anything Sony in recent years. Big developers are still more

Wow you’ve really hit the Sony water hard. To be clear, this Sony that doesn’t gouge for DLC is the same one that goes out of it’s way to secure exclusive DLC content (Destiny among others), timed releases (numerous multiplayer games) and even pushed their platform base with an unfair advantage above others (reference

Windows is literally what I’m talking about. MS is a software company, they want to sell software; it’s why they’re pushing Game Pass so hard for the Xbox (which is a hardware trojan horse for...their software). Xbox consoles are meant for people who don’t want to play on a Windows PC, as evidenced by the fact that

There are certainly benefits to exclusivity, it’s not entirely evil, though my personal view on it does still consider it ‘an issue’.

I didn’t mean to imply you did anything shady, sorry if it came across that way. I just meant to explain why I’d replied in two parts instead of one. I could have been clearer.

I see you edited in another paragraph after I’d replied. Of course there are Xbox exclusives. As you well know, there have been far fewer than in the past to the point one of the vocal anti-Xbox complaints is “not enough exclusives”. So is Microsoft engaged in exclusives? Yes, they all are. Is Microsoft heavily engaged

In what world does pushing your product mean you are pushing for toxic tribalism?

But if they don’t add grind how could Ubisoft insert microtransactions to make the game less grindy?

Actually consensus seems to be angling back to them being just as bad as people used to think, though this is those doing the whole Viking thing not Danes as a whole.

Thankfully my dislike of Legion stems from a lack of character.

B+ comment, would read again.

I’m so glad that people are liking Valhalla. I was incredibly disappointed by Watch Dogs Legion and was afraid that Valhalla might be more of the same. Thankfully my dislike of Legion stems from a lack of character which, aside from Eivor being a bit of a blank slate, Valhalla seems to have in spades. Excellent

Who has been quiet about it?  It’s been reported on extensively at Kotaku.

There are a LOT of posts on Kotaku about that. This article even links to those last posts. How has the Kotaku staff been quiet?
