this woman in my screenwriting group dismissed it as a 13 year old's wet dream (???). she said that because Samantha existed to serve him and please him and had no autonomy or character to herself

he is truly a legend, He's so wonderful to watch.

thank you Norma for calling out the ridiculous rules about dressing rooms!! it had to be said

I can where they were coming from and I can imagine a version of that movie that was successful. but you cannot make a feminist commentary on the male gaze if your film actively participates in it.

Snyder wanted "Sucker Punch feminism"
MacLaren wanted actual feminism"

my theory is that they still have to "audition" for male superheroes by doing female superheroes first. it's like they have to prove they can sell a movie before they are handed something else

For Our Consideration: Kids today don't care about black people

because of the fact that she was probably forced into that outfit and into becoming some sort of slave. also Leia is a princess, a leader and an almost jedi but she's best remembered for being a sex object against her will? that's disappointing. i hate that the majority of Leia figures have her in that outfit

I just saw this movie and while I liked it, I thought the prologue and epilogue were completely unnecessary. the middle section, where Val and Maria interact the most was the best part. I was hoping that Jo-Anne would be seen through her clips and interviews only. By introducing her into the film proper, the mystique

it always creeps me out when straight guys talk about Leia in that bikini

this is a great movie.

I think if any writer does his or her research then they can write for anyone. but a 16 year old being surprised about morning wood rings especially false. granted we don't have the context but I knew about those when I was like 10 or 12

so 5 pretending to be 1?

this was a funny episode but I think the familyn eeds to get away from Dre as fast as possible. he's not funny or charming or cutesy dumb. worst sitcom dad.

the show is set in the 90s.

i feel like there was a missed joke opportunity with Jessica saying her license was in the car and then driving away a 2nd time like she did in the tag

you're right. Smekday is a pretty imaginative title. And believe me I really don't like the title Home. But Smekday seems too out there; it doesn't really tell me much either. there's a middle ground somewhere. unfortunately I can't think of anything

sometimes I wonder if these screenwriters ever show their work to actual human beings for review and improvements

being an 11 year old boy = creepy and objectifying. so while I agree with the review, I see it as merely a depiction what preteen hormones are like.

to be honest, I doubt I'd go see a movie called The True Meaning of Smekday unless I knew what that was. I'm not jumping to see Home either but I think they were right to change the title
