Re: the Deadspin meltdown, here’s the Google cached version of the since-removed post the other day apologizing to readers for the autoplay video content.

That was not the lone dispute among management and staff, which is unionized. Management removed posts on the site telling readers how to complain to management about the auto-play videos that had become prominent on Deadspin in recent days.

I’m presuming everyone else was in suits?

Ironically, or I guess not, their “sports-only” site is useless, basically not covering sports at all.  That site was my entre into the Kinja world and it was the perfect blend of exhaustive sports and non-sports content, but at the moment it’s just crap.  I hope they work something out and stop sucking. 

Is it just me or is Deadspin pretty much on its last legs? It used to be the go-to place for breaking sports news, and at the moment (Tuesday, late pm) the lead story on mobile is still about a forgettable play that happened in an NFL game 28 hours ago. World Series game 6 had a controversial call that I’m reduced to…
