I love the gamesmanship of the hand slap but if you watch it a couple times it seems pretty clear it’s his left leg that hits Bote’s mitt and causes the issue.  I’m not sure you can spin a guy’s glove around like that by patting his bicep.

And a person who steals a quarter stole 25 times as much as one who stole a penny, but you wouldn’t say either stole a lot. This article makes a mountain out of a (decent sized) molehill, IMHO. That’s all I’m trying to say.

This whole article describes a small-scale startup con. Compared to the world of con artists, no, I don’t think these two stories are that different. Many many many people have had their lives ruined by cons, being taken for their entire savings. This is small potatoes.

200+ stars for a comment that’s not an inappropriate joke?  wow

Sorry, didn’t mean to belittle your story, just this article :) . It started out feeling like a big Wired expose on a grand scale, but in reality it seems pretty tiny. The dude was dishonest about the money but he did actually have a contract to buy the game everyone was working on, he just didn’t pony up the $7k.

Smaller scale than two dozen people working for free from home for a month and a half?

Hrmph. A big article about a little thing. Mahal sounds like a douche but a huge scam artist? He did actually have a contract in place for buying the IP — the developers did come work for him — but he just never paid them the $7k promised, which is different than what has happened many times where someone actually

On the positive side, the fact that they took it down is the only reason I just read it.

So there was a report that concluded that it was unable to gather all the relevant information, but its subject tried claiming that it exonerated him?

Sounded more like pocket noise.

For the trick to work it seems he has to make it seem a little less like he’s calling time when he shows his empty hand.

I love that the umpires are sort of playing the Globetrotters refs here, having to be the heavies.

This has nothing to do with Jeremy Lin but I just came across this Barstool post from a few days ago where this Portnoy guy brags about.. well, just read it. I had never spent any time on the site, I had no idea he was such a douche, and that all the people who pay to comment there are such ass-kissers. What a

Because fuck Aubrey, that's why.

Yeah that’s the weird thing.  If a Dr told me “You’ll be taking these” I’d have lots of questions about what to expect.  If I were a guy whose entire livelihood depended on not getting caught with any of a wide range of drugs in my system, I’d have even more questions.

Yeah, we went through this and I don’t remember ever getting a recommendation for any drugs to take. (Could just be my superhuman sperm.)

We went through a variety of fertility treatments and pretty much all drugs prescribed were for my wife. I believe I took a cipro (antibiotic) at donation time once. I’m curious what Tate was prescribed that ran afoul of the league protocol.  Ecstasy?

I know it’s customary to refer to recent articles on the same site whenever possible but the term “Steve Ballmer, shrieking enthusiast” should always link to one of the many videos of him exploding onstage at some Microsoft event or other.

In most if not all states you can shoot your neighbor if they come into your house.
