As someone currently divorcing a shithead, I recognize and respect Turner’s moves for what they are: stay quiet, know what your impassable lines are, and do what you gotta in the courts. Jonas’ very public loudness reads like someone who deep down knows he’s in the wrong, but is too self-centered and misogynistic to

I am pro-choice and deeply mourning the loss of reproductive rights in this country. [Bracing]. And I also think this case feels complex as at over 7 months we are talking less about a clump of cells and more about a living being who could technically be born at that time and, with assistance, survive. If this occured

Predator drones?

“My constituents will not like this and will vote me out of office if I do this” as a motive for an elected official in a representative democracy is ... fine?

I do think that any Republican at this point who even considers the existence of the public beyond the writhing mass of Trumpist scum is a de facto moderate, even if by usual standards they wouldn’t be.

Heck, it’s like watching season 5 of Game of Thrones and loudly intejecting, “WHO’S THIS?” every time a character that’s been in the story since S1, E1 appears.

So you jumped into a random part of a franchise not having seen the other installments and were shocked you were confused?

Or, you can let people enjoy things.  If comics aren’t your thing, that’s fine, but there’s zero need to go poop on someone else’s rainbow.

The one distinct difference, IMO, is that the Potter films largely failed to do much of that shit *in the movies*. I can’t imagine how anybody who hadn’t read the books would be able to follow anything going on.

How amazingly reductive of other people’s human experiences that was. “If you are a comics fan, you are an awful person and never get laid”.

The characters represented have been a part of pop culture for 80 plus years. Literally Islands of Adventure has been Marvel themed for 25 years at Universal and was a huge attraction (still is) since before 2000. This is certainly a hot take.

counterpoint, you SHOULD know what happened in the first season if you want to follow the second season

Between Shakira’s husband’s mother and this guy’s mother, I’m learning that Spanish boy moms are the worst.

Ángeles Béjar marched into a church Monday and said she wouldn’t eat until the “inhuman, bloodthirsty witch hunt which my son is being subjected to” ends.”

I think it’s just a fact of life that celebrities for the most part are incredibly disciplined about exercise and food. Especially actresses and models. Their looks are their livelihoods. While I don’t doubt there are people with eating disorders, I think there’s also a lot of people who are just very, very strict and

3 eggs for breakfast isn’t a miserable breakfast?
I eat more than 900 calories but I don’t eat a massive breakfast. I have 2 eggs and veggies sometimes. What’s the big deal?

Eggs poached in chicken broth actually sounds pretty good? But I would eat them with toast. I’m not scared of carbs.

Given that he’s a grifter of the highest order, and also obviously not all that smart, I predict he’s going to steal his eventual destination from Crazy Rich Asians, and it’s going to be “planned” for a cargo container ship in International waters.

The ultimate irony of course being they seldom benefit from those lower taxes anyway.

The problem is really with the bunch of pro-choice people who still constantly vote Republican because of the siren song of lower taxes. Sadly, there seems to be a pretty big demographic that will NEVER find reproductive freedom as compelling as hoarding that extra bit of cash.
