This house is a registered landmark so any renovation plans have to be approved by the Texas Historical Commission and conform to their guidelines (so a slight sigh of relief that it wont be shiplapped to hell and back).

Yeah, finding a consistently competent technician that you can trust can be kind of hit-or-miss at Subaru dealerships.
I’m starting to think I might have the beginnings of a noisy rear right wheel bearing but my tires are kind of loud too so not sure which is which (no real play in the bearings yet so I’ll just have to keep an eye on them). I’m sure my driving habits aren’t really helping.
I’m not sure if your particular years/makes are covered but I do know there was a service bulletin and ECU update to correct faulty charging logic that was causing some premature battery failure.
I’m at 45k and totally reliable (other than the battery).

Shouldn’t be a problem however I have seen people who, instead of just removing the bumper cap, drill a tight-fitting hole that the tow hook holder fits into.
