In all fairness, the Founding Fathers’ greatest and best achievement was a half-assed plagiarism of John Locke’s Second Treatise.

Attempting to jail political opponents is a pretty long presidential tradition. The Sedition Act of 1798 literally criminalized making false statements critical of the federal government. This was actually used to imprison journalists.

Sexy.

My grandpa was fond of the word “Japs”, but he was really self-aware of it. He knew it was pretty bad, but they tried to kill him in the war so he felt he got a free pass.

I like a lot of what you write. This - the idea that everyone who holds differing political views than your own should be shunned/punished, coupled with the assertion that one of the nation’s most accomplished, and beloved, jurists is “dumb” for not agreeing with you - this is not your finest hour.

Why? Or are you one of these people who can only be friends with people who hold the same political beliefs? How boring. And how insecure you must be in your beliefs that you can only tolerate the company of the like-minded.

Ringer, I served with Grantland. I knew Grantland. Grantland was a friend of mine. Ringer, you’re no Grantland.

If the rookie hat fit you must acquit.

I conte believe this.

The Marlins obviously hoped that he would help the Cream of the Miami offense rise to the top, which clearly didn’t turn out to be the case.

Swing and a miss.

Looks like he let the authority go to his head.

Can’t imagine he would have gotten much sympathy from JoePa if he were still around - “just stop eatin’ kid” or “run more laps kid”.

1. The hit didn’t look like anything particularly bad. The Minnesota player had gone after him earlier in the game, and that looked worse. The replays didn’t show when the hit took place vs when the play was over, so maybe that’s why he was ejected?

They did? I thought I kept checking, but there was roughly a 6 hour period that I remember absolutely nothing.

Good on him for getting help with his eating disorder. That being said, he may want to switch majors from telecommunications.

Well, I learned from this post that kickers are held to the same academic standards as other college football players, so there’s that.
