I also think it hurts that Simmons was innovative back in the day and now there are 1,000 other writers with a similar style. Drew is not the same but an extension of his informal style. I’m not unmindful of your point. Shaq does not get the credit that he deserves because of this (and because he is so wildly annoying to many). But I’m not sure the skill and beauty thing matters as much as having the requisite skills to win games and titles.
