Really? How so?
Really? How so?
A leader would have thought to tell him to work on those free throws a little!
This is one of the sports arguments you can’t win or lose, I guess.
I hear ya. I only have so much outrage to give on this Monday morning. I bet you agree there is probably lower hanging fruit with many other athlete charities where the crime is much greater.
You are digging in deeper than me. The article expresses concern about which “good cause” the money goes to, not pocketing the money and profiting off of it. I’m working off that premise.
I see what you did there (I think)!
Fair point. Good cause was probably a little strong. Should have said not for bad cause.
You assume he does not. Many guys who were bad free throw shooters practiced like crazy. It is a different skill than many other things you are asked to do on the court, particularly for post players.
Harden makes his teammates better. At least don’t discount this narrative. No one is saying that Westbrook makes his teammates better.
I can’t get too worked up about it. The money is going to a good cause. People can ask how the money will be spent and has been spent in the past.
#wisdom
Michael Jordan certainly fell into this category a few times.
I don’t think it was a national tantrum. Just a garden variety tantrum.
Aren’t we always going to say the men’s bench is deeper? Maybe it is and always will be. But I can’t bake that in... or the whole argument is probably moot.
How is it tough?
Not unreasonable list. But how is Serena not 1st? What is the argument?
Rondo will probably regret one day that he wasted all of his talents to only play when he is motivated (for many years of his career). That Instagram post was real wisdom. Why can’t he take it to heart himself?
Reading these comments... the vacillation from liberal to conservative is amazing on there. No pigeon hole for you guys. Could Deadspin be a third party? Bring in the ghost of Gawker, too.
They are. I had very mixed feelings about it. He went to work when few people would. It makes everything weird, right? That is his choice but it is a rare window into grief. Brett Farve wore a helmet that Monday night. Basketball is so up close and personal. I made time to turn on the game because I heard he was…
I get it. I do. But that is real human drama unfolding in front of us in a way you don’t get in sports. I understand the temptation to turn the camera that way.
