Settle down, kid. You have nothing on Chris Davis.

I’d still sign that dude again, knowing what we knew then. He was a beast. He just go hurt. See Davis, Glenn.

Bautista is a better hitter tho. Trumbo is a one trick pony with those home runs and his advanced metrics are not impressive. This is why he was available.

I think he was comparing Trumbo and Bautista. One is a bat flipper that his peers do not like and one seems more like a regular guy. That really was the choice on the table. They were not grabbing both of those guys.

Good question. Two reasons. First, fair minded people want to be fair.We weigh evidence and form conclusions based on real facts. We just don’t accuse people of wrongdoing with a thin reed of evidence. Because it is just wrong. I really don’t think many people agree with this premise.

Let’s try and be a little fair, right? Bautista is not what anyone would calla working class guy. Because he does not work on his craft? No. It is the bad flips and the reality is that, like Duquette actually, he is not well liked by his peers.

You would be right if cost was not an issue. Are you in Baltimore? If you were, you would understand cost is always an issue. Bautista was not a bad fit for us but there was no way we were going to spend that kind of money given his age and... did I mention the money?

Mentioned by me elsewhere!!!!

I agree with all of that. But we might be getting too deep here. He is trying to give some red meat to the fans while explaining away in a convenient way why we would not pay Bautista when we are already behind on building up the “Keep Manny Here” fund.

But that was the context. He was talking about a free agent that would be acceptable to the community.

Just the lack of evidence. I’m all for calling our racists. Donald Trump is either a racist or (more likely) he does not have an aversion to racism. Using Mark Trumbo — also a free agent that was just signed which puts him on the brain in this context— as a blue collar guy does not mean that he is a racist. I think,

Hill I want to die on is not the metaphor you want to use here. I like it but you look clownish using it in this context. (Just advice for you at the bar with your buddies, okay).

All of that is right. But fans like to look for those guys that seem lunch pail and usually those are guys with limited obvious physical tools, particularly speed.

It is possible that there is a real problem with racial inequity in America and that this is not an example of it.

Huh?

Of course that is right. So he blames/throws respect to the fans in the process. Not a bad idea and using a guy without great physical tools is a good example of workman like guy.

Can they ever use a white person without scrutiny? Adam Jones does not strike me as working class. Neither does any elite player.

This is what we have at Maryland. Great guy, great recruiter. Can’t someone else puppet coach?

The Game is the Game man. You don’t like it, don’t play. Obviously enough people do which is how they stay in business.

Man’s gotta right to tweet
