The author has publicly stated that he pictured the character as Korean. Plausible deniability doesn’t mean it’s not an asshole move.

I think what frustrates me here is that instead of leaping on an opportunity to cast a character as Korean, they went with the easy route. I get that Park can be British, and I’ve often had to rethink my personal filter that a “Lee” is most likely Asian, but dammit, it’s a missed opportunity every damn time.
It’s funny, I actually think it’s more frustrating that people automatically think “Park is British” instead of “Yay! A chance to cast a Korean character!”
Not only is Park a common Korean surname, but the author himself has said that she was intended to be Korean American: https://domesoph.wordpress.com/2015/05/02/and…
John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan used to come into the restaurant where I worked in Indiana. Trust me when I say she is not missing anything.
That Meg Ryan item:I hope it’s wrong. How can someone living such a seemingly boring life go through 45 million?
Also. Fall doesn’t literally kill people the way summer does.
I live in Houston. Summers here are a mosquitoed, sweaty, 90% humidity filled hell on Earth. I welcome fall with open arms every year.
based on my entirely unscientific study based solely on lived experience: the rate at which white dudes interrupt men of color is directly correlated to the number of white dudes present.
I want to know the rate of white men interrupting men of color. I’m sure it’s a problem, but I haven’t seen it discussed.
the order was not a US order though, so she was violating an order issued in a foreign country regarding her US citizen children. It didn’t work for her and she has now complied with the US order, but she had a possibly reasonable argument and seems to have at least gotten the US to claim some jurisdiction over the…
Just putting it out there that children, while as expensive as one, are not a yacht that can be put in storage and the judge shows amazing insensitivity in saying he gives Giersch “the right to keep the 2 children in Monaco, while he works out his residency issues with the U.S.”
Actually her reason for not obeying the order sounded pretty good to me. She’s getting some good legal advice.
What proof is there that she lied? Does the Department of State just take your word for it if you tell them your ex is an arms dealer? Because that seems unlikely.
He didn't get deported. And how do you know she's lying? She didn't revoke the visa.
Best. theme song. ever.
Couldn't not find this after reading.
I am sad that this nanny is named Christine. I was hoping for Jennifer. I want him to only date people named Jennifer.
I’ll never understand why women in their 20s are willing to waste some of their best years on some old dude’s midlife crisis. Especially since between whatever Jen’s settlement will be and the three kids, a huge portion of his money is spoken for.
