I have trouble believing Penikett wasn't available— the last time I heard about him was when he won a Twitter contest for a local supplements store.

They had to die so the team could save Skye. There are so many guards, but only so many spunky hacker girls.

First suggestion for Agents of SHIELD: replace Block Gristleface with Garrett's second in command (Trip?) because anybody's an improvement on Crod, and his scenes with Simmons were my favourite parts of watching this episode. (Or perhaps the commercial breaks were.)

Whoa, I didn't see this response until now. There's definitely a distinction to be made between CG and traditional animation— my objection is that most of the time when the topic comes up the reviewer uses technophobic language, praising aesthetics for their authenticity when in reality a lot of it is digital as well

Rat Queens was my favourite issue of this week and I love to hear people championing it. I'm also heartened to see Dee get a bigger role, since she's by far the least characterized (even in the promos, everybody had a subculture to define their look and personality— rockabilly, hipster, hippie— and Dee got stuck with

I looked through all the comments to see if anybody here knows about Homestuck, but I suppose the commentariat here skews a little too old. Even if this site isn't entirely enthusiastic, I know some teenagers/early 20's kids who'll be pretty exc1ted about th1s…

Adult fans of animation probably watch cartoon TV shows and anime, where hand-drawn animation is not a rarity. Additionally, all animation nowadays is to some degree computerized, so drawing that distinction is misleading. This film was partially made in Adobe Flash, of all things (the watercolour-style colouring is

For any other show, one could complain about the lack of women, but Bay Area startups are indeed mostly populated by white male assholes. (Unless you need an HR person. Then you are allotted 1+ white ladies.)

Cool may be a little much, but most major airports in East Asia completely show up every North American one. Even Taipei has free massage chairs and calligraphy lessons, let alone Seoul, where the airport is much nicer than most American malls. They even have two movie theatres inside.

These are surprisingly non-objectionable awards, LL Cool J aside. Idris Elba getting any attention is always nice.

Patrick Stewart's appearance as the Jade Rabbit rover a week ago was extra affecting for reminding me that one day, he too will pass. Good night, humanity.

The new Black Widow is indeed gorgeous— I'm impressed by how Phil Noto handles all of the art duties; I don't think that's common for the Big Two. It really makes for a cohesive and atmospheric experience. (If you have a tumblr at all, I highly recommend following his as well as that of She-Hulk's cover artist, Kevin

It's really weird to me how committed DC is to their house style, when Marvel does so well with a diverse range of artists. I've picked up some Marvel titles just for the art, but I can't say the same for DC. I mostly can't tell their pencillers apart, aside from Jim Lee and Cliff Chiang.

Did you hear, did you hear? Don't tell Paul Revere. Gandhi is contagious. Totally outrageous!

Aw, get off your high horse!

Plenty of non-princesses get included in the princess merchandising— for instance, they often include Alice and Mulan. Since they usually doll up the characters for the merchandising, Disney is probably afraid that furries will sexualize her (more than they already likely have.)

I resent that Odie line. We're more like Nermal— cuter, less obviously but still potently obnoxious, and, if given the chance, you'd all ship us to Abu Dhabi (or Abu Ghraib.)

I did a double take when I saw Sava's letter in Ms. Marvel, but I guess it'd make sense that he'd be on the ball with that.

Is it really that bad? I've avoided the thread (I decided that if I was that much of a masochist I should just browse Reddit or CNN directly) but I held out hope that it'd be civil.

Short of a reveal that Ragyo and Satsuki are not related (and are both aware that they're not related), I doubt that scene could be saved for me.
In any case, I guess we're not having this discussion anymore! I thought we were both being reasonable, but we're both likely tired of this debate anyways.
