A two-door hot hatch with a supercharged 1.8L putting out 210hp, a 6-speed manual, and a reworked chassis tuned by a company that has successfully campaigned in WEC, WRC, German touring car racing, Dakar, and other series? Yeah, pretty sure I wouldn’t mind one of those.

People like you are part of why we don’t get a

TRD has turned into “BIG TRUCKZ” in America. It doesn’t mean anything to non-gearheads, certainly not anymore, at least.

Well it’s people like you that never mattered anyway... anyway the people who not buying that complain the loudest

Sequential gearboxes use the clutch starting from a stop but don’t need it when shifting from 2nd to 3rd for example. Most race cars use this setup. You won’t see many traditional manual gearboxes in modern day racing.

Uhhhhh....

The ‘90’ is significant because the production code names for the supra generations thus far have been A40, A60, A70, and A80. So, a mk V supra would almost certainly have the code A90.

Please. A huge percentage of that list is vague (i.e. “Worked to increase defense spending”) or highly debatable (i.e. withdrawing from Paris Climate Accords) or not an accomplishment at all (i.e. the last three bullets where traveling is apparently a major accomplishment). positive train control was not activated for this ride. PTC ‘should’ prevent stuff like this happening. PTC was mandated like 12 or so years ago but of course its taking forever to actually get into production. This and every crash like it is a preventable tragedy.. what a mess.

No, the difference is we have the resources and talent to upgrade our entire rail system, but becuase the AAR likes keeping things the way its always been because they know it works and have no idea how to regulate a modern rail system.

Congress has continued to give train companies waivers and delays on implementing this technology. Even the technology itself, as described, seems archaic. We have cars on the verge of driving themselves, yet we only want to control braking on a train. Trains are prime meat for automation. It’s a defined environment,

Perfect mix of reliable, go-anywhere useful commuter is the Forester XT.

4Runner is ALMOST the correct answer. Look to its fancier Lexus cousin, the GX 460.

This cars are reliable if they are stock and have a good maintenance.

Keep the Camry, buy an old 90's 4Runner (one without a 3.0) as a 2nd vehicle. Add a rear locker to the 4Runner and some BFG All-terrains.

More like Forever 1991.

I think Lexus just needs to get rid of the “corporate grill”.

Racecar reliability =/= real world reliable. They mean it’s reliable for a race car and can make it through a race without too much issue.
