This case was going on when I was in (Catholic) college. Interestingly, Church dogma states that life should not be prolonged by extreme measures, believing that this isn’t “life” and causes more suffering. Those of deep Catholic faith should (technically) oppose keeping people on life support when there is no chance

My husband is an academic in a STEM field, and especially in STEM fields there seems to be a stronger than usual belief that their field is a meritocracy, and if women and POC aren’t there, they just couldn’t cut it. (My husband is not one of these people, thank god.)
