Yes, the website was confusing and the constant changes in rates and what was offered made me a little nuts. At one point my coverage was shut off for a month because I changed plans. Luckily the fines for lack of coverage didn’t apply because THEY screwed up - but it’s scary when you’re older to have nothing.

Similarly, many of the middle and upper-middle class people who complain about the potential costs of Medicare for All probably have no idea what their employers are actually spending on them (easily $15-$20k or more for family coverage for someone earning $100k).

A 2018 survey by America’s Health Insurance Plans, the trade association representing insurers, found 71 percent of those with employer coverage say they’re happy with it; 49 percent of Americans have employer coverage. That means we’re looking at roughly 34 percent of the country in this hypothetical demographic of

I got about 100 per month, plus a $500 larger refund this year than last.

If you’re an older member of the population who entered the 2010s with a substantial 401k balance, the last 8-9 years have been pretty good to you.

Who actually “likes” their health insurance? Those words don’t even belong in the same sentence. The only time people “like” their health insurance is when comparing it to a shittier health insurance they had at their last job.

Because you’re a slave to it.

Little appetite?

The entire base doesn’t have to be on board, and it’s a false equivalence to equate that specific quote with the polling data I suggested. Honestly, I just did a lot of clicking, and don’t even know where that quote came from.

I mean I’ll say this: Your handle seems 100% accurate.

According to the polling data, it’s likely we could pass a wealth tax.

Sorry for the double post, but it’s like clockwork!

“We shouldn’t do this because it would be hard” is literally the worst attitude of all time.

It’s only centrist in the sense that it’s not fully progressive. If you haven’t noticed the moderates moving left, then you’re not paying attention.

I’d also argue that you can’t really use previous Democrat behavior as being indicative of the newest Congress. While it’s still decidedly centrist, there is absolutely no denying that the Overton window has shifted left, and that these policy positions are far more likely to be supported than when “Progressives”

Is he helping yet?

The details are bad for you, specifically, but very good for the vast majority of Americans.

Good thing I’m not a politician.

Weren’t you, just yesterday, complaining about how Bernie’s very specific plan for how to pay for M4A was shit because it’s more than you, personally, pay for health insurance?
