thanks for the heads up!
thanks for the heads up!
it’s been so good that i had to look up what songs they were licensing, and, lo and behold, all original music. wild
I didn’t read this whole thing in fear of spoilers but I’m watching through it all for the first time and through the first 12 or so episodes I think they’ve been “successful” one time?
Hey Kirk, did you watch past season one of Korra? If so, did seasons 3 and 4 in particular change your view of that show at all? I think Korra hits in a lot of the same ways ATLA did. It has it’s own moving redemption arc, it has that underlying progressivism, and the villains are some of the best I’ve ever seen on…
paragraphs are a friend
They have some work to do with the kids for sure, but I thought Callum and Rayla were solid, and I really like the Villains crew. Remember, the first season of Avatar was like, pretty bad until the very end, and they had a good 26 episodes or whatever to develop those characters.
yeah, Viren’s kids are great. you have to think they’ll kinda have a similar dynamic to Zuko/Azula eventually, which I think you were getting at.
It’s a good show imo. Definitely not Korra level in terms of animation or music but similarly complex and likeable characters. I really like what they’re doing with the villain(s) in the story right now, we’ll see how that pays off.
that is an excellent way to put it. it’s heartening to see games hopefully follow that model.
damn, something always bothered me about this mechanic, and you crystallized what that is for me. thanks.
I’m super curious about this. Something about the CoD franchise, perhaps the single most popular multiplayer series of all time, relying on making a polished clone of an organically created gametype feels weird to me. And yet, at least in the circles I run in, we’re pretty excited for it.
tell me what ya don’t like! i’m genuinely curious. the free speech absolutism is the only thing that from my perspective is questionable. he’s a strong anti-imperialist, he’s good on social issues, he’s pro-universal healthcare, etc.
the greenwald hate is extremely strange, didn’t know it ran so deep. guy has like, 99 percent good opinions and helps run the intercept, which does some phenomenal work.
what are you talking about? i disagree with some of his beliefs, but alt-right? that’s such a weird smear for a guy who is undeniably left of center on every issue i can think of (free speech absolutism excepted).
I kinda like it! It’s visually pleasing to me.
re: people who are lgbtq but “can take a joke”
the best reporting he’s ever done is his continual coverage of his coworkers footwear preferences.
appreciated the cillizza dig, of all the news guys who get (rightfully) roasted, he doesn’t come up enough.
yeah, one of the few extended periods of baseball i watched was the royals playoff runs in 14 and 15 (i’m from kc), and our relief pitching was key in both runs.
as an outsider, the mlb is so strange to me. i’m used to the nba, where players can and do frequently carry an entire team. the mlb is strange because the minute to minute action while you’re batting isn’t a team sport at all, but you’re more reliant on your teammates than any other sport i can think of.
