This looks to be the bomb. When I switched over from a Thinkpad to a MBP, one of the best tools on there (aside from Snow Leopard) is the trackpad. Folks who complain about a trackpad probably haven't used a MBP. I prefer it to a mouse — especially if you have BetterTouchTool running. Powerful as hell.

Victorinox FTW, IMHO. Much better design with the tools actually able to be used without opening up the pliers. When you do need to use the pliers, however, there's a flat back that you use to apply pressure. The original (not sure if Leatherman has caught up yet) Leatherman had your palms pressing up against oddly

Riedel Sommelier Series Bordeaux Glass, only $120. The sad thing is that we have two of these, and we could've saved over $200 just by buying the one featured in this article.

Three things: Coolmax shirt, wet with warm water, open window, and a fan. It will lower the ambient temperature that your body feels by about 25 degrees, depending on humidity levels. It's that effective.

FoodSavr FTW. Worked on my iphone.

Too much crafty stuff. What, are we home economics majors here?

@PaintTheSkyGrey: Maybe I've been watching pr0n too much lately, but I naturally assumed that those weren't her own hands and we were looking at a window-pane view of some hot girl on girl action.

If I didn't already have a French drain, or I wasn't already married, I would be all over that just to up my cred with the hippie chicks.

Talk about having to explain what those hesitation marks on your arm are to your doctor if you fuck this up. You're going to have to send him a link to this article to stop him from calling 911 on you.

@k-napped: Question: Does it work over gloves? Can you try it and let us know?

In the UNIX kernel world, the diminishing returns of multi-tasking is the cost associated with a context switch. Yes, we've got better tools now to help us multi-task, but I liken it to the overhead incurred by using threads instead of processes. Lightweight threads are lightweight, but they still weigh something,

We've got 2 sous vide machines. My wife is not a professional cook, but she is an enthusiast. SV is a good additional technique, and it's pretty amazing what you can do, but it's definitely not for everyone.

@rustybarnacle: I would think that such a concern would be immediately identifiable by just trying it and seeing how it worked. No brainer.

If you track back on the Flickr webpage (and I recommend that you do, because there's a smokin' barely clad lady that is featured in many photos), you'll notice the .ca suffix on his homepage, so I'm deducing Vancouver as the background city.

I've been doing this for 22 years. It's the only logical setup for the mirrors. When trying to explain this technique to my sister, her response was, "But, I like to see my car in the mirrors." I was like, "You know where your car is... If it's not there in the mirrors, then you've got larger problems."

How many f-ing oranges do you have to eat if you're going to start a fire every night. Jebus.
