I dont believe that MobileEye broke up with Tesla. Rather, Tesla started using other suppliers aside from MobileEye recently, and rather than continue to suffer during the awkward period, MobileEye, like a girlfriend who knows she’s being replaced, said, “I’m breaking up with YOU!” before she could get dumped.

They’ve said the instrument cluster is not finalized, you should see the concept Model S and Model X vs. the production models. The gripes most consumers had were non-existent in production form.

$35k does get some decent ICE cars no doubt. Since there’s no Tesla for $35k available now, it is true a preowned BMW for $35k has more marketplace availability.

Those are all great questions. The Model S has been driven by many owners already significant past 100k miles with minor range decreases over the life thus car (6-8 miles degradation IIRC), the battery packs have 8 year / Unlimited mile warranties. I can only imagine once Tesla begins manufacturing their own

“I tend to hate new cars in general” makes a lot more sense with the context. Loved the Esprit Turbo, and the tank W140 S Class.

You’re comparing used cars to new cars is apples vs. oranges. I’m not sure how you don’t see that your own point is that BMW’s depreciate faster than Tesla’s and yet you defend the lack of demand for a BMW...

Interesting that there was no 2015 P85+ and it was replaced with a P85D yet you somehow managed to drive one.

What do you drive?

I came from a 911 turbo, was ordering a new 911 turbo and thought I’d give the Tesla a test drive just to rule it out. About 30 seconds in to the test drive, I said I didn’t want to drive it anymore. Salesperson was initially confused, I said I want to order now. Had the car in my hands 28 days later custom built to

Oh you mean the leatherette seats, optional sunroof, optional backup camera, or 180hp four-cylinder engine? Which part was the “more luxury going on?”

Have you driven one? Taken a ride in one? You’re entitled to your own opinion, just want to know your experience history.

ah the two armpit cities of Texas.

Whether they cared about the Roadster or not doesn’t speak to their reliability. Yes, they’ve sold mass quantities of one car, the Model S. They’re also actively selling Model X. Based on the scalability of the platform alone, reliability is a trend. Just like when you hear BMW uses the same engine in every 3.5L model

I don’t think they’re saying that $35k is affordable to everyone. I think that it’s affordable to a mass-market of people, especially when you consider the entry-level luxury vehicle market and how many cars get sold annually within that category.

Auto pilot I understand since we all crave control. However, the no sound coming from the engine preference might be altered the first time you fly by a cop looking away.

It’s all about perspective. MB sells 100k S-Classes a year, yet some might say they’re exclusive.

Not to mention ever having to buy gas ever again

Probably bc on YouTube there’s an audience or a closed track without traffic.

There’s a paradigm shift happening with performance cars owners. I have friends who are single with no kids and no need for a four door sedan, but they’re trading their gas powered 2 door sports cars for uber fast Teslas with lots of tech.

it’s an under promise over deliver strategy. Obviously if the car does 0-60 in 4 seconds or something it doesn’t benefit them to admit that from now. The bolt does it in 6.5 secs IIRC, so that seemed to be there only benchmark.
