Sure, it's their beta...and they can put whatever map they so choose in it. What I can't understand is why the hell they wouldn't want to test out vehicles...it's a beta...that seems like a pretty important thing to test on the wide scale.

There is an option in console settings to have the console finish any downloads before shutting off. So you can turn off your console but it wont be completely off until all downloads are done.

I was refreshing the Battlefield page on xbox.com through my phone every 30 minutes and I finally just saw the Beta on there about 20 minutes ago. 6 a.m. is such a terrible time for things to get put on the market place.
