I’m guessing you actually haven’t played GTAV judging from your comment. The game runs amazing, specially when you look at the scope of it. There are so many things happening around you, not only graphics wise, but NPCs, cars, weather, etc.

RPG stands for Role Playing Game. So yes, games like Skyrim and Witcher are RPGs. They are not defined by their battle system, so they all fall into the same genre. There are different types though, action, strategy, turn based, etc.

Well I think his point still stands. I for one bought The Witcher 3, not because of the pretty graphics they showed, but for the game itself. Never read the books, but did play Witcher 2 and loved it. So when they announced a sequel to that I was on board for it.
