"l33t"? Haven't heard that in about 17 years. Damn. Nice one.
I have a feeling they wouldn't get along. Melisandre is like the teacher's pet whereas Thoros is like the kid in the back of the class folding paper airplanes.
Apparently the resemblance between Gendry and young Robert is supposed to be pretty strong too.
Sansa has a big cap figure though and they want to clear space so they can sign Rickon Stark in the next free agency period.
Whitewalkers can't swim, so Gendry will save mankind by creating a new boat-based society that safely rows around the world, always out of the walkers' reach.
No way he will die right now IMO. But yea, he definitely seemed wounded.
I have no explanation for that. It makes no sense why Mel could create a smoke monster once and never do anything again since then. That being said, maybe it has something to do with the illegitimacy of the Baratheon claim. They are not kings at all. Or maybe it's just that she sapped Stannis of all of his power and…
I think the show peaked at The Red Wedding. I don't think it will ever hit that high again. There is still a lot of cool shit going on, but it has become a lot more convoluted with all the new characters and plot threads. I never really liked Robb that much, but he was a clearly sympathetic character for most of his…
On a somewhat related note re: Dorne, there is an interesting book theory that Oberyn had already fatally poisoned Tywin before Tyrion killed him, which is why he was on the john with a mean case of the shits. Those snakes like their poison. I strongly suspected Myrcella had been poisoned when they made a point of…
The Vince Gilligan School of Screenwriting says improbable coincidences are fine…as long as they work against the protagonist. This one checks out in that regard.
On a lighter note, I think Tyrion + Varys is one of the best dialogue tandems in the show. The only rivals I can think of are Bronn + whoever and Varys + Littlefinger. Happy to see the dwarf and the bald man back together again.
Also there's some subtle visual foreshadowing when Jon is dying. For a few moments he almost seems to have a crown of flame:
Not a book spoiler. Just speculation.
Remember what Sam said a couple episodes ago:
Crappy storyline, but at least it ended with some actual consequences. Myrcella dead, Dorne in chaos, Dorne/Lannister tension increased, and Cersei/Jaime having failed yet another of their spawn.
Yea, I'm not necessarily a huge fan of all their creative choices. I feel like they've latched onto the salacious bits and cranked them up to 11. Ramsay and his stupid girlfriend are a perfect example. I don't recall them being quite so campy in the books, though I could be wrong.
I'm not saying it would be good, but it's certainly possible. Reek has found a new purpose. Maybe Stannis will too.
