1. I haven’t seen anyone in Pelle Pelle since I left Howard U in the early aughts.
Girl yassssss! Could you hear my mental hand clap? Your playlists and mine overlap so much. And the fact that you too are taken with Wale’s verse on No Hands... Girl, let’s be friends. I also have reggae and some bounce music on my list.
I’m pretty much SZAed out. I heard Humble and was annoyed so I didn’t really listen to Damn and despite being an avid Drake Stan, Passionfruit wasn’t really my zhuzh. Eh
Wooooow
Aliens would get all the white tears, Predator tho? That nigga just getting murked
Not mad at your list. And my mama co-signed, so you’re good. I appreciate #6. That’s my jammy jam cuz #ForeverAlone
I’ve seen him live 10 times now. The first when he was in the Reasonable Doubt era and I was a teenager in a place I shouldn’t have been in NY but who cares cuz HOV! I’ve always been a super fan. Saw the Hard Knock Life tour in 4 different cities, seen him in various clubs (DC Live includes), OTR with him and Bey but…
I’m 100% here for all of this.
I had completely forgotten about the movie Soul Man til I read this. As soon as I saw the name, I immediately pictured C. Thomas Howell in blackface, wearing sunglasses, a-smiling and a-swaying like Stevie Wonder....
I felt every word of this in my soul. And as a sophomore (I think) at Nansemond River High School in Suffolk, VA, we performed Joyful, Joyful at a school program. They did NOT appreciate our blood, sweat or tears.
I think CST is lashing out because growing up, they wanted a Russell Wilson to come be their step-dad but their moms kept choosing Future’s.
7. I watch Can’t Hardly Wait just to see the scenes between Lauren Ambrose and Seth Green. The rest of the film is filler for me.
Definitely one of my absolute favorite albums ever! I think it was a perfect example of the proverbial “stars aligned”. The right producers with the right music with the right artist and just the right time and BAM! Bobby mufuckin Brown
You aren’t by yourself. I read the earlier article and was vigorously shaking my head. I don’t excuse what she did, it was a horrible decision that she made. However, I’m not going to point and laugh at her pain because of it. I just can’t get with the “that’s what you get” rhetoric.
I cannot be held responsible for my eating habits during that time of the month. Baby Ruth and Pepsi are the only 2 food groups that matter. And I already have “the sugar” so clearly I just don’t care about my life. Lol
Shoulda bought Grits.
I hate all licorice. No Red Vines, Twizzlers, I’on eat nan none of em.
I never realized how much of my HU experience took place in the Punch Out much like The Pit in ADW. I miss everything abouty HU days. Even the bad stuff. First night at Meridian being told not to walk down Euclid at night cuz there was a girl found in a dumpster with no head, arms or legs...our shitty computer lab,…
I had gotten worried, myself. Kept seeing posts for all those other schools and it was getting to me. Now I’m singing Glory Hallelujah (woooooooooo) I’m so glad!
