They really need to do this for folks that take all day to pass a semi. If those folks witnessed what a piece of a truck tire can do to a car, they’d be less inclined to tarry. Truck drivers also get pissed when they have to slow down to let traffic merge in, because Slowpoke McFuckabout won’t pass them.
I try to flash-to-pass a bit earlier because some people are so unaware of their surroundings that they have to take a few extra seconds to check their mirrors/blindspot. Flashing when they’re near a sign w/a white or yellow background helps during the day. These newer, brighter headlights really light those signs up.
