Expanse has some of the best most realistic production design of any sci-fi series to ever exist, and the factions are pretty clearly drawn when they are supposed to be, just like GoT.  You just have to pay attention.

I really need the Hopium from the original TNG series, not whatever the fudgehole is going on in Picard. I know the Federation wasn’t perfect, but the way it has been portrayed in Picard has been piss poor, awful, no good, and disappointing.

I still would rather have had a fun Firefly-esque La Sirena show with Rios, Rafi, Soji, Elnor, Seven & Agnes than anything they’re going to come up with for the TNG crew.

I love TNG, but Picard has been so bad. Season 3 was written and filmed back-to-back with Season 2 so it’s likely to be more of the same.  Maybe they’ll set them up and the SNW team can take over the future direction, but I don’t have much hope for what is done with them on Picard.

Yeah, I recently replayed the game for the first time in years and years, and don’t see the problem.  I guess it made the story a bit disjointed, so maybe the pacing could have been tightened a bit, but seeing how the two stories weave around and then converge was satisfying.
