And now you’ve put the early 80's electronic song Sharevari in my head. “Smoking on his cigarette. Listening to his car cassette. Cruising with his hot playmate. In his Porsche 9 2 8.”

I was going to start my comment by saying “because 95% of Fusion sales are to rental car fleets” then I realized the same thing could be said about the Edge so now I’m lost.

That is a great suggestion but Dieselgate was about the engine, not the Golf in particular since that power plant was in many different models. That said, if you had to represent that whole thing in a single car, the Golf is a good choice. A close second would be a red Beetle TDI since that’s what VW used in

And even the “good looks” are debatable.

Well put. Basically this over everything. Sure general customers don’t care how old a platform is, but they do care about how a car feels and they all feel very dated, even brand new models. They need new product with new design language and new infotainment options asap or they’ll suffer more of the same..deservedly

Don’t put words into my mouth that’s not the point I was making. Did I say “real manufacturer” or did I just say “manufacturer?” Even so, allow me to paste the marketing blurb on the DBX taken from AM’s own website...

That’s a tough argument to make considering the number of manufacturers who use their engine as a major selling point, especially when it comes to ze Germans.

Literally watched this last night and was literally thinking about this video when I loaded Jalopnik. Fantasy vehicle for this would be a Sprinter 4x4.

Starred for truth. Google “jalopnik tesla vaporware” for proof.

1. Get body restored on my wife’s ‘67 Bus (anyone know a guy/shop in NorCal? Seriously.)

Do you know if this prototype still exists somewhere?

I’m good w/rental car maintenance history, I’m not good with...

I live in CA and frequently see these cheap looking things on the roads. I’m sure it’s a fine EV but

Federalizing a new model type isn’t cheap and the RS6 Avant by itself doesn’t present a good enough business case but throw in the A6 Allroad, now you’ve got something.

Did you actually get a response from Porsche on this? I can imagine Porsche execs breaking stuff in their office after reading that.

As a former B5 owner I have a lot of respect for this car having made this long and with that many miles. That said once you replace the timing belt (also water pump and tensioner while you’re in there), valve cover gasket, clutch, shocks, and make sure other known weak points on the B5 are inspected/replaced like tie

I hope not, two of my cars are from the 60's and I hope to keep them propelled w/gas as long as possible.

I’m waiting for a Mr. Fusion.

As I pointed out to someone else, my comment is on FUTURE tech and design trend, not what you see on the roads today or even the next few years for that matter.

Yup.
