I hope the CEO who green lit this BS leaves BMW quickly before he ruins the place even more. Oh wait.

Look what I just saw drive by and yes, the engine sounds 100% Sprinter diesel.

What’s the retail on an airvac flight to a hospital?

Every time I hear the term “Hot damn!” I think of

Saw one for the first time at the RM Auctions this weekend. What a disappointment in real life. Wavy body, poor fit and finish, ugly interior, and overall really weird portions that only stick out in person. This car is best enjoyed via posters.

Mark my words, classic car auctions have just jumped the shark.

If you’re driving James Bond’s Aston Martin and you’re not neck deep in pussy galore, you’re doing something wrong.

I went and saw the car before the auction and it was perfect. Everything looked brand new minus the original gadget labels on the center console. I would have bought it but I draw the line at $6M, anything more is just silly.

Read that article again, that’s 16 miles EACH WAY meaning round trip is 32 miles.

Is that really the same prototype that was originally flat black then painted red? Have they really only built two prototypes thus far?

But you know you’d read the articles if he bought it.

This looks like it came straight out of Grand Theft Auto.

All I’m saying is, as cow drag mentioned, imagine how great this car would be w/60+ mi EV range, especially in other parts of the country where everything is spread out even further.

This thing needs an EV swap pronto.

The only saving grace for PHEVs is if owners can at least commute to work on EV only. With the average commute at 32 miles round trip and the EV range being only 30 miles, that just doesn’t cut it. Maybe I’m wrong and you guy are right, but looking at BMW PHEV sales since 2014 says something’s gotta change.

Isn’t the EV part the only reason why we’re reading the article here?

Where are you reading that Hybrid systems are unreliable? Keeping the topic on Ford, Escape Hybrids have been known to reliably rack up 300-500K exclusively on taxi duty.

Yeah, they should tell that to George Zipp.

As a person who just spent 2.5h in LA traffic I disagree. The best is a mix of both. Self drive on the fun roads, but auto pilot for traffic jams/rush hour bs. FWIW my saving grace was my rental rav4’s radar cruise and lane keep assist which did most the work.

Yup. You simply aren’t buying a museum piece at this point. That said, if this was a solid example, I’d totally buy it as I yearn to own a car from my birth year.
