I think the line had been crossed so many times. I feel AV club is now almost a community more than a news site. With shit hitting the fan the av club has obviously decided to expand into a more general coverage especially on topics like this.

I won't say that this is like a big blot on Oscars or something.. Gaffes do happen and finally it was handled with grace and humor by the parties involved including Beatty. This infact makes it a memorable oscar and watching the video makes it a really interesting human moment.
