Let’s just get one thing out of the way: Using depth of field to take a “good picture” is the wannabe photographer’s get out of jail free card. Digital photography has created a generation of “photographers” who primarily rely on insane depth of field to give the illusion that they are good at photography.

I really don’t get the hate for Jurassic World. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time, and the other sequels kinda bugged me, but other than a couple small things, I thought World was a worthy sequel. It was fun. I feel like World gets a lot of hate just because it’s the “in” thing to hate on.

What’s funny is that Jurassic World went out of its way to provide a relatively (narratively speaking, anyhow) heavyhanded explanation of, “Dude, we spliced DNA from a bunch of shit into these prehistoric critters, so they’ll look different now than they did way back when.”
