Nope. That’s old school wisdom that doesn’t apply anymore to the modern rubber compound snow tires. Maybe mud tires in sloppy offroading type situations, but that’s a totally different situation. You really aren’t “cutting though to the pavement” anyway. If there is any amount of snow, you are still riding on slush,

One solution for that would be for automakers to set the automatic function to be the default. That’s how the headlights were in the 2003 GMC Envoy XL that I learned to drive in. If you wanted those headlights off, you had to turn them off every time you started the SUV. Enthusiasts hated it, but I never saw anyone

Dogs. Just dogs. If you can hear your dog barking from inside your house (yes, I know you can) then it’s a pretty good assumption that I can hear it from inside my house. Your chain link fences doesn’t hold in sound. With all my windows and doors shut, there is no reason I should have to hear your dog barking. Barking

Step outside with all your doors and windows shut.  If you can hear it, so can they.

Exactly. My gas bill is maybe $40 in summer (water heater) and maybe $100 in winter. So heating my house in the dead of winter costs about 60 bucks. And that’s keeping it at 72 where I’m comfortable in a t-shirt and shorts. Or I could lower it to 68, be cold and uncomfortable to save, what, 10 bucks per month for 3

...But probably just as obvious.

Well, the person currently in charge has been for the last 4 years, so...

TL;DR

I know plenty of people that have it for their cars, including me.  Have had it for years.  Best of both worlds... lots of channels, some of them with (usually) exactly the type of music I like, no static, and I don’t have to mess with making playlists and messing with my phone while driving.

Let’s go beyond subscriptions... like you can’t buy season tickets unless you first buy a seat license. In order to even allow you the opportunity to subscribe to anything, you must first pay for the account that allows your car to interact through whatever cell service connects to the internet, then to the web

What’s the point of any pursuit or arrest if the DA and/or judges are just going to let him go anyway. “It was the second stolen vehicle they were caught with in a week, as they were arrested only a day before for for suspicion of possession of a different stolen vehicle. They were arrested and let go on their own

What’s the point if DA’s and judges are just going to let them go? “It was the second stolen vehicle they were caught with in a week, as they were arrested only a day before for for suspicion of possession of a different stolen vehicle. They were arrested and let go on their own recognizance.”

Depends on where you live and where you drive. I have used radar detectors for many years and have lidar jammer installed also. In the Pacific Northwest my radar detector has kept me from getting a ticket way more often than the lidar jammer.

Please get your units of measurement right. “The car’s battery can be fully recharged in just three hours when connected to a 7.4 kWh power supply.”  That is a nonsensical statement, like saying the distance from point a to point b is 45 miles per hour.  I know, journalists are horrible at math, but still...

This seems to have very little to do with Air Tags. The only thing the Air Tag is doing in this scenario is making it a little easier to track a car. If you drive or park your expensive or desirable to thieves car anywhere in public, then it will be seen. If they really want to know where you live, they can follow

It’s not like it’s an irreplaceable supercar worth more than some peoples homes... it’s a 60k, mass produced car that can be replaced with an identical one, assuming owners had full comp insurance. Not having full insurance on any car worth more than you can afford to lose is a whole other discussion not limited to

Nope. Don’t care what someone does, or how guilty they are, or which side of the team politics game you are on, let the system do it’s thing. Otherwise, you’re advocating for mob justice.

I think most everyone is pretty much tired of the team politics being brought into every discussion.  Give it a rest.

Well, right there in the first two comments is what’s wrong... people are idiots. Do you think maybe the truth could possibly lay somewhere in between your team politics rants. There can be two things true at the same time; there is a risk of getting covid, there is a risk of getting seriously ill, and there is a risk

Might have been an interesting article, but not interesting enough for a slideshow.
